Designing by Day, Learning by Night: My AV Consulting Journey

This month marks my third year with Apeiro Design — known as Auerbach Pollock Friedlander when I joined.

As an audio-video technology consultant, I get to do what I genuinely love: designing and documenting AV systems across a wide range of projects. Most of my time is spent in the office shaping those designs, with the occasional site visit to confirm a finished system delivers on the original design intent.

Spending most days in the office does mean far less hands-on bench time than integration or live events operator — something I miss, but gladly trade for the work I get to do. Manufacturer training helps me stay close to the gear. A few I've finished so far:

QSC — Q-SYS Level 1

Netgear AV — ST2110

Netgear AV —  Level 1

Disguise — Projection Essentials

Disguise — Introduction to Disguise Cloud

Disguise — d3Net
